Early Years

The company offer dance and movement workshops for parent and toddler groups in Children's Centres etc and in school settings for Foundation stage pupils. Dance programme for pupils with PMLD

Dance programme for pupils with PMLD. A movement and dance programme designed specifically for PMLD pupils incorporating pupil workshops and twilight teacher sessions. Sessions explore physical contact / touch and movement of joints through imagery, sound and music. Dancers work closely with staff to develop appropriate content.

APPROPRIATE YEAR 9 UPWARDS

Develop ICT, dance and choreography skills with Dance Digital..
A workshop programme that explores the creation of choreographic material using digital tools. Through a series of workshops pupils will work with animation software to make animated choreographic material. Students then explore how to combine live and digital choreography. Students also develop their film and directing skills as they document the project on video. A dancer and digital media artist facilitate the sessions. At the end of the project the work created by the students is edited onto a DVD for the school to keep.

tees valley dance currently advise and guest lecture on BA Dance at Newcastle College, M-Level & BA Hons Dance at Teesside University and are partners with BA Hons Dance at Northumbria University. tees valley dance is a micro business at the forefront of innovative dance organizations in Europe. The company actively engages with the emerging entrepreneurial frameworks the Creative Industries offer, and embraces a more holistic vision of the dance sector with manifold new opportunities, skill sets, career pathways and business models to explore. Underpinned by traditional core dance techniques and theatrical devising and production skills tees valley dance can offer work-related learning experiences that give students insights into development and production of finite and intermediary dance products in live and digital performance settings project management and product development for creative learning settings business models, production/event management and product dissemination in the dance sector.

Dance Activity for Older People

tees valley dance delivers dance workshops and projects for older peoples' groups in residential care home settings, drop in centres and retirement villages, including with residents who suffer from dementia. The workshops are tailored to the needs and abilities of the group and encourage participants to share their dance memories and favourite music.
